LearnWorking in a Session
Upload audio
Where audio goes in, the rights acknowledgement, and the background copyright check.
Where you can add audio
- The Music step of Session setup.
- An empty Session's Add first audio prompt.
- The arrangement editor, when replacing or adding a track.
- The Project workspace, for stems and working files.
Common formats (MP3, WAV, AIFF, M4A, FLAC — and audio-only MP4) are accepted, up to 150 MB per file.
The rights checkbox
Every audio upload asks you to confirm: “I confirm I have the rights to use this audio in this Session.” This isn't decoration — the acknowledgement is stored on the server when your file uploads, and uploads are refused without it.
The background check
After upload, a short clip is checked against a music recognition service in the background. Your upload is never blocked — even if the check fails or the service is down, your file is already in the Session.
If the clip matches a commercially released recording, you'll see a banner: Possible match found — confirm you have rights to share, with a Confirm rights button. See Copyright for exactly what happens next.
