Terms
Terms of Service
The agreement between you and In Progress. Plain language first; counsel will finalize the legal text.
Pending counsel review
This page is draft copy for internal review. Do not rely on it for legal compliance until counsel approves the final text.
Your account
You need an account to create Sessions, contribute, buy, or sell. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must provide accurate information and be legally able to enter this agreement.
Your music stays yours
You keep all rights to the music and other content you upload. By uploading, you grant In Progress the limited license needed to operate the product: hosting your files, streaming them to the people your visibility settings allow, generating previews and waveforms, and displaying artwork and credits.
Every audio upload requires a rights acknowledgement — you confirm you have the rights to use that audio in the Session. Uploading music you do not have rights to is a violation of these terms.
Collaboration and credit
When you contribute to someone else's Session, the artist decides what becomes part of the official cut. Work that survives into an official version earns public credit. Economic splits for paid releases are recorded separately in split agreements, which every participant must explicitly accept before a priced sale.
Purchases and sales
Artists can sell final releases directly on In Progress. Payments are processed by Stripe; sellers must complete Stripe Connect onboarding before receiving payouts. Track sales carry a 10% platform fee and fan contributions carry a 5% platform fee. Purchases grant you a personal entitlement to stream and download the release — not ownership of the underlying rights.
In Progress Pro is an optional monthly subscription managed through Stripe. You can cancel any time from billing settings.
Acceptable use
Do not upload content you have no rights to, impersonate others, harass people, spam, or attempt to break or abuse the service. Our Community Guidelines describe what is and is not okay, and how enforcement works.
Copyright
We respond to copyright notices as described on our Copyright & DMCA page, and we maintain a repeat-infringer policy: accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material will be restricted or terminated.
Termination and changes
You can stop using In Progress and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced before they take effect.
Disclaimers
The service is provided as-is. Split agreements and other in-product records are documentation of what happened in the product — they are not legal advice and may not replace formal agreements. Questions: michael@inprogress.music.
