Manifesto
Unfinished music deserves a room.
In Progress exists because songs are made together — and the internet still treats collaboration like file transfer.
What we believe
01
Music is collaborative
Records are made by rooms, not lone geniuses. The tool should reflect that.
02
Nothing starts perfect
A rough take is enough to begin. Honesty beats polish at the start.
03
Everyone contributes differently
A drummer, a writer, a friend with a note — each fingerprint matters.
04
Ideas evolve
Versions are how songs grow. Hear every direction before you choose.
05
Artists stay in control
You accept what becomes official. Your song stays yours.
06
Progress matters more than polish
Unfinished music deserves to be heard while it is still becoming.
What we refuse
We will not talk like engineers about your art. No repositories, no branches, no pull requests — just Sessions, versions, and official cuts in plain language.
We will not pretend every song starts finished. The landing page shows work in progress because that is the honest shape of making music.
The record
A final release is a one-way door: the released cut is frozen, credit is on the record, and the song can go out the way you choose. Until then, keep working — progress is the point.
