Release notes for In Progress, newest first. Progress is the point — here's ours.
Sale approval, one History tab, better covers
August 5, 2026
- Paid release of a Session whose audio matched a commercially released recording now requires a manual review. Artists submit licensing documentation right inside the publish flow, and an admin approves before the sale goes live.
- Compare and History merged into a single History tab — version comparisons, official history, and project revisions in one place.
- Cover art editor: generated covers can show the Session title, with sleeve choices, palettes, a custom word, variation reroll, and custom image upload.
- Session action bar reorganized with labeled buttons by role — Share · Branch · Settings for artists; Share · Download · Report for everyone else.
- Audio recognition now runs in the background after upload, so uploading is never blocked by the check.
- Audio-only MP4 files are accepted as audio uploads.
Copyright system, Pro, and DAW preservation
August 4, 2026
- Upload-time audio recognition: every audio upload is checked against commercially released recordings. A match asks you to confirm your rights — it never blocks the upload.
- Copyright and moderation system: report Sessions, profiles, and comments; every report opens a case reviewed by a human; rights acknowledgement recorded on every audio upload; formal notice intake at /copyright.
- In Progress Pro: unlimited private Sessions, 50 GB storage, a Pro badge, and featured discovery eligibility for $5/month.
- Native DAW project preservation: uploaded project files (like Logic projects) are kept byte-exact as immutable revisions you can re-download.
Email notifications
August 3, 2026
- Reliable lifecycle emails — invitations and Session activity now arrive from notifications@inprogress.music, with preferences in Settings.
iOS grows up, splits before sales
August 1, 2026
- iOS: Home tab, native Explore with genre browse and search, full Session playback with purchase gates, in-app stem downloads, Profile and Settings, Session creation, and contribution uploads.
- Contributor split approval: a priced sale now requires the master split to total 100% and be explicitly accepted by every participant.
- Version comparison and official-version rollback on the web — move the current pointer back to an earlier official cut without losing history.
- Cover art became a contribution — collaborators can propose covers, not just artists.
